Illinois State Bank to Offer Special Checking Account to McHenry County United Way Volunteers
New accounts come during National Volunteer Week
LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. – Illinois State Bank today announced that it will offer its non-profit perks checking accounts to volunteers with the United Way of Greater McHenry County Volunteer Center. This special account – offered throughout the month of April – is in celebration of National Volunteer Week April 18-24.
Volunteers who open a non-profit perks checking account with Illinois State Bank will receive $50, and Illinois State Bank will also give $50 to the Volunteer Center as part of its annual fundraising campaign. The checking account also comes with direct deposit, no minimum balance requirement, free online banking and more.
"The Volunteer Center has thousands of volunteers who give their time and effort to worthy projects and causes throughout the year, and what better time than during National Volunteer Week to say thank you," said Shaun Eck, financial center manager at Illinois State Bank's McHenry branch. "At Illinois State Bank, we're so grateful to our area volunteers and want to show our appreciation."
According to Rebecca Stiemke, executive director of the Volunteer Center, more than 25,000 hours of volunteer service were logged in 2009 alone, which equals more than half a million dollars of service to the McHenry County area.
"Volunteers are the backbone of organizations like this, and we truly appreciate their service," said Stiemke. "We are grateful to businesses like Illinois State Bank that recognize all that volunteers do and offer them a reward for their service."
