Illinois State Bank To Hold Community Shredding Day At McHenry County Branches
On Saturday, April 12
Residents invited to bring personal documents for free shredding
LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. - Illinois State Bank today announced it will hold its second annual Community Shredding Day on Saturday, April 12. People can stop by either of Illinois State Bank's two McHenry County locations from 9 a.m. to noon to have outdated personal documents securely shredded. The event is free and open to the public.
"Illinois State Bank recognizes the importance of identity protection and properly disposing of materials that contain personal information, and we encourage our neighbors and friends to participate in our second Community Shredding Day," said Chet Ward, president of Illinois State Bank. "The timing is especially good this year as people are sorting through their personal papers at tax time."
The public is invited to bring in outdated, unneeded documents with personal information for shredding. Such documents may include old bank statements and other documents listing bank account information, credit card statements and documents listing credit card numbers, credit applications, pre-approved credit offers, old paycheck stubs and documents listing Social Security numbers.
Shredding drop off is available at both Illinois State Bank locations, 1301 Pyott Road in Lake in the Hills and 1869 Curran Road in McHenry. A mobile, industrial shredder will be available at the Lake in the Hills branch for those who have larger quantities of materials for disposal (up to two boxes).
Shredding specialists will be on hand to shred the documents and turn personal information into small, unrecognizable pieces of paper at the Lake in the Hills location. All shredded materials will then be recycled. In addition, people who attend will also be able to learn more about how to prevent identity theft, what personal documents should be kept and for how long, and much more.
Additional information about the Community Shredding Day is available on the bank's Web site at shredding.illinoisstatebank.com and at either Illinois State Bank office.
