Frantz to Serve as President of Casa of McHenry County

MCHENRY, Ill. – Illinois State Bank today announced that Amber Frantz, assistant-vicepresident and market manager for Illinois State Bank, has been elected president of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of McHenry County. CASA is a nonprofit organization currently serving 87 abused and neglected children in the county through the help of 47 active volunteers. CASA of McHenry County is a member of Illinois CASA Association and the National CASA Association.

“It’s an honor to have Amber serve on this board,” said Chet Ward, president of Illinois State Bank. “Amber’s compassion and dedication to helping children in need is something she truly believes in, and we are pleased to support her in this new volunteer position.”

Trained CASA volunteers are appointed by a judge to serve as advocates for children who are legally considered abused and/or neglected. They are independent individuals that act as an advocate for the child’s best interest and as a monitor for the court. On average, CASA volunteers spend 10 hours per month visiting with the child, advocating for their needs, and providing objective court reports. CASA is the only non-profit in McHenry County able to work in this capacity with court involved child victims of abuse and neglect.

CASA of McHenry County is in charge of upholding four basic responsibilities: monitoring each case; advocating for the child’s best interest; helping facilitate services for the child; and collaborating with agencies and attorneys. CASA employs an executive director and two advocate managers who facilitate the daily activities of the organization. Frantz, along with the board of directors and committee members, work diligently to ensure the best quality advocacy for each child and for the longevity of the program in McHenry County. CASA hopes to someday provide a volunteer for every child that needs a CASA volunteer. More information about the organization can be found at casamchenrycounty.org.

Frantz is a resident of Woodstock, IL.
