"We, as a bank, are honored to participate in this scholarship program," said Chet Ward, president of Illinois State Bank. "It is truly a privilege to help play a role in the education of these students and help them achieve their goals."
The Gordon Larsen Memorial Scholarship was established as a memorial to Illinois State Bank's founding Chairman Gordon Larsen. Larsen served as Chairman of the Board until his tragic death in a car accident in November 2003. The purpose of the scholarship is to highlight and promote the growth of service, leadership and ethical business practices in young people in the area. The scholarship is awarded by the Algonquin/LITH Rotary Club.
