Illinois State Bank To Hold Community Shredding Day At Both Branches On April 21
Residents invited to bring personal documents for shredding
LAKE IN THE HILLS, Ill. - Illinois State Bank, a division of North Shore Bank, is inviting the community to stop by either of its branches from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 21, to have their outdated personal documents securely shredded. The bank's first Community Shredding Day will be held at both of its branches in northern Illinois and all 40 North Shore Bank branches in eastern Wisconsin.
"Illinois State Bank realizes that is so important for people to protect their identity and dispose of materials containing personal information in a proper way, and that is why we are proud to invite our neighbors and friends to our Community Shredding Day," said Marie Smith, vice president-district manager for Illinois State Bank. "We encourage everyone to stop by one of our branches to shred their documents and learn more about steps that can be taken to protect their identity."
The public is invited to bring in outdated, unneeded documents with personal information for shredding. Types of documents that people may want to shred include: old bank statements and other documents listing bank account information, credit card statements and documents listing credit card numbers, credit applications, pre-approved credit offers, old paycheck stubs and documents listing Social Security numbers.
Those who have larger amounts of materials for shredding (two box limit) can visit the bank's McHenry branch, located at 1689 Curran Road in McHenry. The bank's Lake of the Hills branch at 1301 Pyott Road will be handling more limited amounts of materials.
Large shredders and shredding specialists will be on hand to shred the documents and turn personal information into small unrecognizable pieces of paper. All shredded materials will then be recycled. In addition, people who attend will also be able to learn more about how to prevent identity theft, what personal documents should be kept and for how long, and much more.
Additional information about the Community Shredding Day is also available on the bank's Web site at ShredIt.illnoisstatebank.com and at either Illinois State Bank office.
Illinois State Bank is a division of North Shore Bank, which was founded in 1923 and has assets of $1.9 billion and 42 offices throughout eastern Wisconsin and northeastern Illinois with a mortgage production office in Tampa, Fla.
